I'm Rashid Al Shobaki, and I'm not just an Engineering Leader – I'm a passionate explorer of possibilities. When I'm not busy engineering success, you'll find me indulging in my other loves: Football, Music, Note-taking, and Sharing Insights and Experience 📝.
My journey began in the heart of Jordan 🇯🇴, where I honed my software engineering skills and set the foundation for what was to come. I was fortunate to have navigated three significant transformations since then. Here they are:
Starting My Own Business 🧑💻
In 2011, I co-founded iaraby, a company that specializes in building technological mobile apps for smartphones. At the time, smartphones were gaining popularity, giving us a unique advantage. Being a co-founder required me to wear multiple hats, including human resources, software development, content creation, operational management and leadership.
Going Global 🌍
Fast forward to 2017, I decided to explore new global markets and started working as an engineering team lead in Germany. This introduced me to new challenges, and I reframed my purpose from building code to building coders. I wanted to help engineers be successful, so I focused on becoming a successful leader for my team.
Remote Leadership 🚀
In 2020, the pandemic hit the world, and I underwent my third transformation, becoming one of the top remote engineering managers at Forto. This also made me one of the go-to references for remote leadership online, which was an outstanding achievement.
My career isn't just a job; it's a philosophy. 🌟 The cornerstone of my belief?

With over 14 years in engineering and management, I've been fortunate to learn from brilliant minds. But my journey wasn't a stroll – it was a climb that transformed me into the leader I am.
Becoming a manager isn't just about titles; it's a metamorphosis of skills and attitudes. 💼 And what separates the good from the extraordinary? The art of learning and practicing, which I've embraced wholeheartedly. I've soaked up knowledge like a sponge through podcasts, books, courses, and conferences.
But the real magic happens when knowledge is shared. Seeing fellow managers benefit from my insights fueled my desire to make a difference. That's why I embarked on the mission to take my notes to the world – giving birth to my newsletter Managernotes! 🚀
